Many of todays German designers pride themselves on creating pieces of furniture that have sleek, simple lines, and that are available in simple colors. Most of these furniture pieces are also designed for many different body types. This makes German furniture more versatile than other brands: it can fit even in small rooms, it can match with other types of furniture, and anyone can use modern furniture. German furniture designers describe their work as simple and even small, so even if you have low ceilings, few windows, or dark walls, your apartment or house will not appear cramped.
Furnishing your apartment is a great way to show off your style and flair. Selecting apartment furniture that showcases your design aesthetic is a wonderful way to let people know about your personality and taste. Creating a warm, welcoming apartment will encourage your friends and loved ones to visit often and enjoy their time in your home. While furnishing an apartment is a fun way to show off your style, finding apartment size furniture can be a challenge. To help ensure everything you purchase fits your apartment, be sure to take measurements before you go shopping. Measure floor space to make sure area rugs fit the area you wish to cover without creating problems opening and closing doors. Measure the area your bed will go to make sure the bed frame and headboard leave room to accommodate bed side tables or shelves to house your alarm clock, books, and other night stand necessities. Be sure to take an accurate measure of your windows for blinds and draperies, as well.
We get asked a lot about the wood and construction that is used in hotel furniture and how to tell low quality furniture from high quality furniture. In a lot of cases, you get what you pay for but with furniture prices going lower across the board from lower overseas labor rates, sometimes good items are not that much more expensive than lower quality furniture. Here I am going to tell you about low quality furniture and what to check for. We all know of the running joke about some manufacturers and their "easy" at home assembly with the hundreds of screws, boards and dowels and mostly undecipherable directions. These types of items, called RTA or ready to assemble are not built with quality in mind, most of the time, they are used because they are compact and if you are shipping the items in a shipping container you can get a lot of boxes stacked on top of each other. While these items may be suitable for home use, for long term hotel use they typically cannot stand the wear and tear of high volume usage. Over time, a lot of these designs sag, twist and contort and need to be replaced. So your first question to ask is, is the hotel furniture already assembled?
